Boracay Island is a small, tropical island surrounded by stunning white sand beaches, located in the Philippines, located approximately 315 km (196 mi) south of the capital Manila, in the Western Visayas region.

About an hour flight will take you from Manila or Cebu, straight to this lovely little piece of paradise.

Seven km long, but receiving numerous awards from travel publications and agencies for the island and its beaches. In 2012, Boracay was awarded as the best island in the world from the international travel magazine Travel + Leisure.

For beach lovers, Boracay island competes with the best beaches of more popular destination. The more active will appreciate all activities offered on the island.

Boracay has 12 beaches. White Beach, on the West Coast, with its white sand, and quite shallow crystal clear blue water is consistently voted as one of the world’s best beaches.

Boracay Island is also very well known for its now very rare, gleaming white Puka Shells, said to be the best in the world.

Bulabog Beach, directly opposite of White Beach, is the water sports area and protected by a great reef.

The remaining beaches are either deserted, remote or have private resorts and villa’s. Yet, you can access nearly all beaches by a series of paved or gravel roads or by sea.

Everyday seems to be a holiday in Boracay – all you need to do is relax and enjoy yourself. It is a vacationer’s paradise, something for everyone’s budget and taste. There are many good restaurants with food from all around the world. Also, is the island known for its nightlife, with pubs and bars of all kinds that will party until the beautiful sunrise.

Boracay is located 2 km from Caticlan, the mainland gateway for sea and air access to Boracay.

There are two ports in Boracay (Cagban Port) and Caticlan (Jetty Port) to ferry passengers across the Tabon Straight.

Boracay Island is divided into three districts: Yapak in the north, Manoc-Manoc in the South and Balabag in the center. Tourist will use the boat stations of White Beach as reference. Boat station 1 in the north, boat station 2 in the center, and boat station 3 in the South. (The boat stations are no longer in use, however they are the accepted point of reference for all things White beach)
